This June and July the Royal Exchange Theatre are hosting three career development workshops which are fully accessible and free.
Monday 26th June:
VOICE MASTERCLASS with CHRISTOPHER HOLT
Christopher is an actor, theatre director, lecturer, voice coach and a disability arts practitioner, who has 20 years experience in teaching, training and developing a range of voices. This is an inclusive session which will focus on breathing and vocal technique, it is directed towards all D/deaf or disabled performers in the North West.
2:00pm session and a 5:00pm session
Saturday 1st July:
MOVEMENT MASTERCLASS with ADAM DAVIES
Adam Davies is from Manchester physical theatre company, ANIMIKII, he will run an inclusive session specifically created for all Deaf and disabled performers who wish to develop their practice of storytelling through movement and physical performance.
12:00 session and a 3:00pm session
Monday 3rd July
CASTING/AUDITION workshop with casting directors SARAH HUGHES & JERRY KNIGHT-SMITH
Casting directors SARAH & JERRY will discuss audition preparation and technique and tackle the challenges and assumptions that affect D/deaf or disabled performers in an under representative climate.

D/deaf & Disabled Actors’ Networking sessions
Join our regular networking sessions for the opportunity to discuss, listen, plan, support and share. Every 4 to 6 weeks we invite North West based D/deaf & disabled actors, practitioners & changemakers to join us at the Exchange for an informal and friendly networking session. Our next meeting is Saturday 29 July at 11:30am, there is no need to book, but please let us know of any access requirements if you do plan to join us… email Jerry on email@example.com.
